Prof. Rajvinder Singh, Australia

Rajvinder Singh is a Professor of Medicine with the University of Adelaide and the Director of Gastroenterology at the Lyell McEwin & Modbury Hospitals, South Australia. He is an Editorial Board member of Endoscopy and past Editorial Board member of Digestive Endoscopy and Endoscopy International Open. He has authored/co-authored more than 100 publications and book chapters on Advanced Endoscopic Mucosal Imaging and Resection techniques. He has been involved in various committees drafting national and international guidelines on this subject. He is presently a member of the Standards of Practice and Publications committee with the World Endoscopy Organisation (WEO). He was the past chair of the Australian Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Association (AGEA). He is frequently invited to conduct Basic and Advanced Endoscopy Workshops having participated in more than 100 workshops/symposiums across various countries.

Prof. Yuichi Mori, Norway / Japan

Dr. Mori is working as an associate professor at Showa University Northern Yokohama Hospital, Japanand a post-doctoral researcher at University of Oslo, Norway. He has a strong interest in the implementation of artificial intelligence intocolonoscopy practice. Relating this topic, he has published more than 100 articles,obtained more than tenpublic research funding/awards, and contributed to acquisition of regulatory approval of four AI tools as a main clinical advisor in Japan. In 2020, he moved from Japan to Norway to establish more robust evidence in this academic field. Hecurrently works as a councilor of the Japanese Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) and also servers as a core member of the committee of the AI-assisted endoscopy of JGES.He is a fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE).

Dr. Yutaka Saito is the Director of the Endoscopy Divisionat theNational Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. He also has served as an attending Professor of Gastroenterology at Tokyo Medical University since April 2017.

He has been invited to perform as a faculty member and live demonstrator in numerous countries.　He was honored for an invited professor at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and Jacksonville, Florida in 2010, and at Arizona in 2016.

He was also commended for Basil Hirschowitz Master Endoscopist Award for advancing the art and science of endoscopy throughout the world in 2013 and Certificate of appreciation of Outstanding Reviewer for GIE: Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 2015-2017.

Prof. Seiichiro Abe, Japan

Dr. Seiichiro Abe M.D., Ph.D., FASGE received medical degree from Sapporo Medical University in 2002. He completed his short-term and chief residency training at Endoscopy Division, National Cancer Center Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Abe specializes in the endoscopic diagnosis of early gastrointestinal cancer in addition to advanced endoscopic therapy, including EMR and ESD for esophageal, gastric, and colorectal cancers. Furthermore, he serves the co-editor in Endoscopy International Open, the associate editor in DEN Open, and the international editorial board in Endoscopy and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He contributed to scientific journals and congresses and received many best oral presentation awards and many best reviewer awards in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, VideoGIE, Endoscopy, Digestive Endoscopy, and Digestion.

Prof. Mouen Khashab, USA

Dr. Mouen Khashab is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital and is the Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Johns Hopkins. He is nationally and internationally known in the field of interventional endoscopy and has contributed immensely in recent years to the advancement of interventional endoscopy as a minimally invasive means to treat various gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary disorders. He is also a very busy researcher and has been very industrious in the field publishing more than 425 papers in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Khashab is a highly-sought after speaker at national and international conferences and has participated in multiple live endoscopy conferences. His major interest is in new technology and medical devices and he directs the animal research laboratory at Hopkins, which is dedicated for these purposes. Dr. Khashab is involved with multiple gastrointestinal societies and has served on many committees including the Standard of Practice committee of The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), which is in charge of formulating practice guidelines for the practice of endoscopy. Dr. Khashab has also served as an associate editor for the journal Endoscopy, a premier journal in the field.

Dr. Khashab completed his medical school at the American University of Beirut and subsequently completed residency in internal medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at Indiana University. He then completed a 2- year fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital before he joined the Hopkins Faculty in 2011.

Prof. Noriya Uedo, Japan

Dr. Uedo is a gastroenterologist and clinical investigator in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology, Osaka International Cancer Institute (Formerly Osaka Medical Center for Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases. He graduated from the School of Medicine, Kagoshima University in 1992. He has joined the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Osaka University. In 1994, Dr. Uedo started his training in gastrointestinal oncology and endoscopy in the Osaka Medical Center for Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases.

He is a councilor of Japanese Gastroenterological Endoscopic Society, Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, and Japan Esophageal Society, and Japanese Gastric Cancer Association, and an international member of American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Philip Chiu is currently Professor of Division of Upper GI and Metabolic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Director of Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center, Director of Endoscopy Center, Institute of Digestive Disease; Director of CUHK Jockey Club Minimal Invasive Surgical Skills Center; Director of CUHK Chow Yuk Ho Technology Center for Innovative Medicine and Associate Dean (External Affairs), Faculty of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Professor Chiu graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994 with two scholarships. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2001 and received his Doctor of Medicine at CUHK in 2009. Prof. Chiu is first to perform endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for treatment of early GI cancers in Hong Kong in 2004.

In 2010, he performed first Per-oral Endoscopic Myotomy (P.O.E.M.) in Hong Kong as well as pioneering World first robotic gastric ESD in 2011. His research interests include esophageal cancer management, minimally invasive and robotic esophagectomy, novel endoscopic technologies for diagnosis of early GI cancers, endoscopic surgery as well as robotics for endoluminal surgery. He has published more than 200 peer reviewed manuscripts and 6 book chapters. He received numerous prestigious awards including State Scientific Technology and Progress Award from People’s Republic of China in 2007, 2nd class award in Technological Advancement, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in 2011. His research on POEM was awarded best of DDW 2011 and first prize of ASGE world cup of endoscopy 2012. He was selected as Asia Pacific Digestive Week JGHF Emerging Leader Lectureship in 2016 and Global Outstanding Chinese Youth 2016. He received the Gold Medal with Congratulations from Jury, 47th International Exhibitions of Inventions of Geneva in 2019 and Spirit of Hong Kong Award on Innovation in 2020. He is currently co-editor of Endoscopy and subject editor for Surgical Endoscopy.

Prof. Prasad Iyer, USA

Dr. Prasad Iyer attended medical school at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Milwaukee, WI, and his GI Fellowship at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, MN, where he also completed a Postdoctoral Master’s Degree in Clinical Research. Dr Iyer is a Consultant and Professor in the Barrett’s Esophagus Unit, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, where he has been on staff since 2006. He is the Director of the Esophageal Interest Group in the Division of Gastroenterology and a member of the Advanced Endoscopy group. He also directs the Post-doctoral Education Programs in the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences at Mayo Clinic and is the Co-Director of the Advanced Esophageal Fellowship.

Dr. Iyer is an Associate Editor of the journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the past Chair of the International Committee of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His clinical and research interests include early detection, risk stratification and therapy of Barrett’s related neoplasia and squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus as well as endoscopic ultrasound. He has published over 200 peer reviewed articles as well as several book chapters. He is a reviewer for many journals including Gastroenterology, the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, American Journal of Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Prof. Michel Kahaleh, USA

MD, AGAF, FACG, FASGE

Michel Kahaleh is the Clinical Director of Gastroenterology and Chief of Endoscopy at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University. Trained in Erasme Hospital, University of Brussels, he led the Pancreatico-Biliary team of endoscopists at the University of Virginia before joining Well Cornell Medical College in July 2011 as Chief of Endoscopy. He is a world renowned endoscopist boarded in both Europe and the United States.

With over 200 publications, Dr. Kahaleh's research has primarily focused on interventional endoscopy. He continually serves as a primary investigator on many clinical trials; including those that involve the use of new devices to diagnose and treat biliary and pancreatic diseases. A major focus of his research is on preventing and treating complications of advanced endoscopic procedures. He is actively analyzing the efficacy of metallic stents in both benign and malignant diseases. Another area of investigation for Dr. Kahaleh is understanding and preventing biliary and pancreatic cancer. The objective is to develop new diagnostic techniques for reducing the mortality associated with those cancers, by detecting them earlier and treating them using novel therapies such as laser therapy, photodynamic therapy and radiofrequency ablation. He is actively involved in minimally invasive techniques and endoscopic surgery, teach Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) in latin america and run the therapeutic EUS foundation. He created "EDGE" (EUS directed transgastric ERCP) for patient with roux en Y gastric bypass needing ERCP and offer STER (Submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection) as an alternative to complex surgeries.

Prof. Truptesh Kothari, USA

Dr. Kothari has clinical expertise in interventional endoscopic ultrasound, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, intraluminal stent placement, esophageal endotherapy for Barrett's esophagus, Achalasia, Zenker's myotomy, and pancreatic-biliary disorders.

He leads the Bariatric Endoscopy Program at Strong Memorial Hospital.

One of the passion of Dr. Kothari is video editing and has been on the editorial review board of Video GIE since the beginning. Dr. Kothari is a big advocate of educational learning through the medium of social media platform.

Krish Ragunath moved from Nottingham University, UK to Australia in May 2019 after being appointed as Professor of Medicine at Curtin University Medical School, and Consultant Gastroenterologist at Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia. Currently chairs the World Endoscopy Organisation Research committee. He is member of the British, European and American Society of GI Endoscopy.

He has served as the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) International Secretary 2014-18, Treasurer BSG Endoscopy committee 2016-19, advisor for National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) interventional procedures subgroup and independent external advisor for the Welsh National Bowel Cancer screening programme complex polyp MDT. Professor Ragunath served as a core member and co-director of the International Working Group on Classification of Oesophagitis (IWGCO) Board 2014-18. His clinical and research interests include advanced endoscopic imaging of the GI Tract, Endoscopic Ultrasound, Barrett’s oesophagus and minimally invasive endoscopic therapy of early GI neoplasia.

He has co-edited the BSG Barrett's oesophagus guidelines, quality standards in upper GI endoscopy guidelines for the management of gastric premalignant conditions and UK oesophageal dilatation guidelines. Has authored / co-authored 150 peer reviewed publications and text book chapters. He is Associate Editor of “Digestive Endoscopy” journal, member of the Editorial Board for 'Endoscopy', 'Gastrointestinal Endoscopy', Translational Gastroenterology & Hepatology journals. He was the recipient of the BSG Hopkins Endoscopy Prize 2010. He has performed several live endoscopy demonstrations, endoscopy training in animal models and has lectured in national and international meetings. He delivered the RCP Edinburgh, Professor Anne Ferguson lecture and recipient of the medal, 2017.
